Frequently Asked Questions
AI Doc Translator is a smart assistant for Slack. It does three main things: 1. Translates your documents (like Word, PDF) while keeping the original layout; 2. Translates any text you share with AI Doc Translator in Slack; 3. Helps you write new content, like blog posts or emails, using AI.
Just drag and drop your file into a channel with the assistant or send it in a direct message. AI Doc Translator will ask you to choose a language, and then it will start translating. You'll get the translated file back in the same chat when it's ready.
Yes. This is the most important feature. Your tables, images, fonts, and the entire page layout will be preserved. The translated document will look just like the original, only in a new language.
Yes, you can. Paste a public web link into a chat with the bot. Please make sure the link is accessible to everyone and not private or behind a login. If the link is to a file (like a PDF or Word document), AI Doc Translator will download the file and translate the entire document, keeping the original layout. If the link is to a webpage (like a blog post or news article), the bot will extract and translate only the text content from that page.
The assistant is powered by advanced AI models that understand context, making them highly accurate and reliable for most professional business needs. Because AI Doc Translator also preserves the original layout and formatting, the final document looks professional and is ready to be shared with clients, partners, and internal teams. For critical legal or medical documents, we always recommend a final review by a human expert.
AI Doc Translator supports all common business formats, including Microsoft Word (.docx, .doc), PDF, PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt), and Excel (.xlsx, .xls). We also handle a wide range of other types, such as simple text (TXT, RTF), web content (HTML, XML, XHTML), subtitles (SRT, VTT), data files (CSV, JSON, YML), and standard translation files (XLF, XLIFF).
Yes, AI Doc Translator can help you create new text. You can ask it to write a blog post, a marketing email, or a press release. Once the content is created, you can then have it translated into any language you need.
Yes, absolutely. Your files are encrypted during upload, translation, and download. We are fully GDPR compliant and take your privacy very seriously. Your original files and the translated results are stored directly within your own Slack workspace, not on our servers. This means your data is protected by Slack's own enterprise-grade security infrastructure, which includes major certifications like SOC 2, SOC 3, and ISO/IEC 27001. Any temporary copies of your files needed for the translation process are deleted automatically from our systems as soon as the translation is complete.
Our pricing plans give you a certain number of "translation characters" to use each month or year. A character is any letter, number, symbol, or space in the text we are translating.
If you have several documents to translate into the same language, you can use the batch translation feature. Simply upload all the files at the same time (you can drag and drop them together into Slack). AI Doc Translator will recognize you've sent multiple files and will translate all of them in a single job, saving you time.
